January 2012 (letter number 2)
Dear Pastor & Friends:
In my heart I feel the need of personally writing this second
version of our prayer letter this month since most of the news
concerns me and the happenings of the past 2 weeks.
We are totally overwhelmed at the response we received from our
brethren asking prayer for my nefrectomy. It took place as was
scheduled on January 16. The surgery was done with an incision of
approximately 10 inches in order to remove this kidney of
extraordinary size. Also a cyst was removed from the liver. I was in
the hospital a total of 9 days and am very happy to be home in this
phase of recuperation.
My daughter Joy and grand-daughter Sandy, have been with me in
the hospital during the entire time, plus spending most of this past
week at home with us.The folks at church have helped take turns
spending the night in the hospital as well as some of my friends, so
I have been well cared for. And what can I say about the tender
loving care of my dear husband...
The road to recuperation is going to be long and slow, but we
feel that the Lord has been in this from the beginning. Starting
next week I will go through a series of tests to determine my
ability to receive a kidney transplant and once that is all done, my
name will appear on the transplant list. This will be done in
Madrid. We will continue to count on your prayers as the Lord leads
us through this next step in our lives. We appreciate so much all the
emails, cards and letters from so many of you.You are each one
precious to us.
In Christ, Carolyn
