Summer Camps 2009

Camps are over for this summer. We started out with Childen’s camp (ages 7-9) with 71 attending. Pastor Angel Torres and his wife planned and directed this week. Their theme was abiding in Christ using John 15. Eight children accepted the Lord and we pray that God will use these children one day in His vineyard.

Junior camp (ages 10-13) had 98 in attendance. They were taught how to win the battle against the giants Satan puts in their way. We felt many battles were won during the week. Six of them trusted Christ.

The next week was for Youth ages 14-21 and four were saved. Here again we had an overflow crowd and were not able to accommodate all those who wanted to attend. We managed to accept 116 people even though one group of boys had to sleep in the tabernacle for lack of a cabin. We tried to impress on them the need to reflect the image of Christ in their lives. Many nights the altar was filled. Pray God will call some of these youth into His service. Our need for national pastors is greater than ever,

We finished up the summer with two Family Retreats. The first week (87 campers) were taught how we are “strangers and pilgrims”. God poured out His blessings on all who came. The last Retreat was based on how to “Seek and Save”. During the study, a 70 year old camper accepted Christ. There were 95 in attendance that week.

We thank God for a great summer. The total figures come to 467 people and 19 souls saved. A great team of directors, counselors, cooks, preachers etc. made camp what it was. God has also given us a good summer in the local church ministry. Two Spanish men were saved recently - one of them was Angel, husband of Nayibi that we had asked you to pray for. He was in one of the Retreats with his entire family and is growing in the Lord.

Carolyn has had all the necessary testing to start dialysis and is now on the waiting list to receive the fistula in her arm. Thanks for making all our labor possible through your prayers and gifts.

In Christ,
