Dear friends in Christ;
“Because thy loving kindness is better
than life, my lips shall praise thee.” Psalm 63:3
We open this
report with praises to our God, for His Infinite Mercies, Loving Care and
Eternal Provision. Since January, many events have taken place in the lives
of our family and of our church family.
FAMILY NEWS
On January 24th I turned 66 years of age. To the young people I am “old”
and to the older folks I am “young”. I truly feel the blessings of
being both; I’m blessed to be “old” because I believe I’m more mature
in the matters of the Lord, of life and love, and I’m more aware that I’m
closer to meet my Lord anytime. PRAISE HIM! At the same time, the
Lord has given Janet and I the strength and good health to make us feel
“young”. I still compete with the younger men playing soccer (I can’t
swing the bat or play golf because of some torn ligaments in my shoulder),
but I still feel active. PRAISE THE LORD!
Our family has grown with another grandson! What a blessed time it was for
us, as grandparents, to see this beautiful newborn child come into this
world. We have been blessed with the birth of Quinten Daniel Cassady,
third child of our daughter, Yvette and Chad. We now have eight
grandsons and one granddaughter. It is our prayer that they will each make
Jesus Christ their Lord and Saviour and will some day have the desire to
serve Him. PRAISE HIM!
CHURCH FAMILY NEWS
Our church family has also grown in number. An uncle, Albert (74
years old) has prayed for salvation. He has been attending Church,
along with my aunt, for about a year (she got baptized last year) and now he
has finally accepted Christ as his Saviour. PRAISE GOD!
In January, Lisbed got baptized! She had been saved for about two
years and had been working every weekend. In her own words “she felt she
wasn’t complete without baptism”.
In February,
Janet and I took some needed time off to celebrate my 66th birthday and to
participate in two missions conferences. We left the church in charge of two
of our church couples: Juan and Maria from Perú (he plays the piano
and is prepared to teach and preach the Bible) and Miguel from Mexico
and his wife Aura from Guatemala (they helped with the Sunday
School). Both families did an excellent job. PRAISE THE LORD!
In our absence, Juan suffered from a detached retina and had to have
an emergency operation. He is now recovering and has suffered the loss of
eyesight. Please pray for him!
Last but
not least, Janet and I feel so blessed to have you as our prayer partners.
Many of you have supported us in prayers and finances for more than twenty
years, we are very, very grateful to you and to Our Lord! Please
continue praying for the Spanish ministry here in Denver.
Together in His Ministry,
Eddie and Janet Urey
Thank you for your continued, sacrificial giving and prayers!
