Dear Pastor and Friends,

God is faithful even in the most turbulent times. Greece is going through a very troubled time right now. In spite of the worldwide financial crisis, many government groups are causing turmoil in the country. Government employees cannot be fired. Therefore, whenever they are not satisfied, they go on strike and protest against the government. Greece has a conservative government in power right now. However, Pasok, another large socialistic party, is ahead in the polls. So they are encouraging all the government employees to protest so that the government will be forced into early elections while they are ahead. The violent riots in December, farmers blocking the highways with their tractors, and today air traffic controllers at the airport and all government doctors going on strike are just a few examples of their attempts.
Yet, even in these tumultuous circumstances, as Christians, we can always find peace and strength in Christ. God is still blessing Greece. We had a valentine’s banquet, where we celebrated the love that Christ expressed for us on the cross. During this time, God blessed and we had the opportunity to share the gospel with some unbelieving visitors, that under other circumstances may have never set foot in our church. Please pray that the seed that was planted will grow and bear fruit in this barren field.
The ministry at the Oasis is operating at full capacity every night. Last week I got to preach the Gospel to over 500 Muslims. Scores of refugees arrive in Greece every day. It is heart breaking. The need is so great. I am stopped on the street constantly by refugees looking for a place to stay, for a job, or someplace to get a small meal. Please pray that God will provide for this ministry. We need a larger facility that will be able to accommodate the large numbers. The current building accommodates 150 people comfortably, but lately our low nights have been 170. When we reach 200 we are forced to turn people away.
Our God has the power to provide for all our needs, and we know that in His time He will do so. Amalia is growing up so fast. She loves to be around other people. She will go up to a stranger and ramble on and on in her baby talk. It is amazing anticipating her next big step. She bows down and places her hands on her face to pray before her meals and at church. During worship she stands up and looks up high at the screen and mumbles as if singing. She is a blessing to us.
Thank you, for all your prayers and support. God is so good. I don’t know how this crisis has affected each of you, but this one thing you should know, our God is always faithful and I thank Him for each one of you.

Thank you for your support and prayers!

Serving together for His glory,

James and Cristina Sinde
