Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Awesome
is a well used word but there is no other to describe our Baseball
Camp this past week! It was
AWESOME! Your prayers and the great help of the teens and youth
pastor and wife of Sauk Trail Baptist Temple in Richton Park, Ill.
made it all possible!
Our first day was held at the church for the kids to practice
throwing and catching and when all the registrations were complete,
we had 37 participants!
Then on Monday–Thursday mornings we had the camp at a local sports
area with a final total of 54 participants! We had enough for
4
teams, 2 for the younger kids and 2 for the older kids and they all
had a great time. The team brought over new gloves for each child
and either Chicago Cubs or White Sox hats for each one. Several
parents stayed to watch and then helped in serving lunch which was
no small feat for some 80 people! Zoltan and Eva, our main couple in
the church, put in many hours of work during the week as coach and
cook, respectively. They are such a blessing to us and were to
everyone this past week.
For three evenings we held youth meetings with some 20+ teens every
night. They played lots of crazy games and one night we had a
digital camera treasure hunt. On the first evening we saw two boys,
Gabor and Laci, receive the Lord as their Saviour! The teens really
enjoyed the fun, fellowship, and of course, the food!
The mission team served in the church services as well singing and
sharing testimonies. It was a special blessing to have them with us
for 8 days and we trust that this trip will have an impact on their
lives as well. Pray that we will see much fruit both here and back
in Chicago.
If you have been praying for Balazs from our last prayer letter,
your prayers were answered!! He was one of the
7 saved after the
closing program on Thursday night. The first thing he wanted
afterwards was for someone to talk with his girlfriend, Evi. She had
been saved several years ago and rededicated her life to the Lord.
It was a joy to see them in church today!

Pray with us as we follow up with some discipleship for those who
were saved (a total of 9) and continue with the many new contacts
that we have made during this time. Zoltan has already talked with
the principal of the local school and will be holding a
demonstration game in August with the purpose of forming continuing
baseball groups at the school.
All of these blessings would not have been accomplished without your
faithful prayers and support. Thank you so much! Our next prayer
letter will be from stateside as we will be going on furlough August
12th. If we can help keep missions alive in your church, please
contact us at
danpeters@bbfi.org
God bless each of you.
