February 13, 2008
Dear Friends,
It’s February and the emphasis is on love: red hearts, red roses,
red glittery cards, chocolate covered red cherries. Athens is
decorated with a display of hearts of all colors and designs all
over the city. Certainly any decoration brings color to the city,
but this one brings it close to the heart. The heart is a wicked
thing the Bible says, but it also says that the heart is a thing the
Lord opens. We pray that the Lord will open the hearts of the Greek
people: open unto salvation as in Acts 16:4 “whose heart the Lord
opened” and we pray that churches will be started as in the days
of Paul, “And so were the churches established in the faith, and
increased in number daily,” Act 16:5. It is love that brought us
here: love for the Lord, love for the lost, love for souls, and love
for the Greek people. It is love that will keep us going, for one of
my favorite verses says, Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the
LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart,” and I
borrow the words of Paul to say “Brethren, my heart's desire and
prayer to God for Israel (GREECE) is, that they might be saved.,”
Romans 10:1.
The
best way to spread love to the hardened hearts here in Greece is to
distribute the Word of God in the city squares, in towns, and
villages. We have been very busy this year distributing tracts,
calendars, and New Testaments, putting the Word of God in their
hands, under their doors, in their cars, and letting the Holy Spirit
convict and save their souls. Please join us in this effort by
praying for salvation of souls, and if the Lord puts it in your
heart, by sending us books of John and Romans, and New Testament
(both in Greek and in English) for mass distribution.
