Dear Friends,
“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the
caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his
majesty, when he ariseth to SHAKE terribly the earth.” (Isaiah
2:19) Greece is known to be a seismic nation, we get at least 2
earthquakes a week of about 3 to 4 on the Richter Scale. The homes
are built to take an earthquake that ranges from 6 to 7 on the
Richter Scale but there are times when a powerful earthquake hits
and homes go down and people die. This was the case last month when
an earthquake hit and devastated a few villages in Southwestern
Greece. More than 300 homes were devastated but praise the Lord only
one person died. But then I thought that even that one soul that
died without Jesus Christ is heading straight to a devil’s hell for
ever and in that moment I prayed, “Oh, God save every boy, every
girl, every man and every woman in Greece that they will not perish
in the fires of hell!” I am burden for my people for I see they are
brainwashed into the lie that to be Greek you have to be Orthodox.
This is the reason why we are driven to go out daily and evangelize
the multitudes by singing, and preaching short messages, and passing
out tracts and New Testaments that they may hear and be saved.
In June we distributed over 6,000 tracts in Athens, Thessalonica,
Berea, Philippi and Corinth with Pastor Trill and NTBC group that
came from Florida. They were a great encouragement to us.
I had the blessing to lead a Greek man to the Lord in the center of
Athens, who is working with monks in a monastery. He said it will be
difficult for him to break from them, so pray for Basili. Monks in
Greece are not so humble and graceful, they can get vicious as I
experienced their fury over the years, most recently in the center
of Athens I had another encounter while I was evangelizing, a monk
came and started to punch me in the head and in the face causing my
lip to swell while yelling “A heretic, a heretic…” and then he
dialed the police to come and arrest me, but thank the Lord that
things did not turn worst. The next day I was back in the same place
in the same time because souls are on the balances and we have to go
and tell them of a Savior that loves them and wants none to perish.
*Luisa had to have surgery to remove a tumor from her finger. Pray
that God will supply the extra funds to cover the medical expenses.
*Pray that our small group in our church to stay faithful and to be
a good witness.
*Pray for our finances because of the inflation, the oil, and the
weak dollar.
*I thank you for your prayers, for your love, and giving to our
mission work:
Laboring Together Till Jesus Comes,
