June 2003

It has been a very harsh winter here in Greece, no longer the famous Mediteranean weather that tourists are attracted to from their wintery countries. In spite of the cold, we have been pressing forward and traveled to Corinth every Saturday to have Bible Studies in a home, where we have seen Lakis and Iota get saved and transformed by the Word of God. Praise the Lord. Iota is suffering from depression, a old problem in her life, but we can see how Lakis has miraculously risen above it and strengthened himself and his wife in the Lord. Pray for this new work in Corinth, that we will see fruit and a new church will be started here.

For years we have been praying for this young lady to get baptized, because of family pressures, for this same reason I will not use her name. We were elated when she told us that she will be coming home for Easter to get baptized in the Aegean Sea by Cenchrea, Acts 18:18, , and even though the waters were frigid, she did not waver, what a great testimony to all. Antony was saved several weeks earlier and was also baptized.

We praise the Lord for Dimitri’s salvation. Dimitri has lived a hard life on Sea, he has been coming to church Dimitri with his wife for a while. His wife has testified that he has changed his lifestyle, then one night he said something like this, “I want to praise the Lord for this church and this pastor…I don’t know if I am saved, but coming here has helped me to change my life….I don’t know if I am saved, but I am living my life differently now… I don’t know if I am saved, but I want to do what pleases God.” This was the night that we took Dimitri into the office and showed him from the Scriptures, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life….” I John 5:13

Mary Herman
We had a pleasant visit from Mary Herman who shared her wisdom with our ladies and encouraged all of us with her presence and ability to teach others to teach. This teaching seminar was a highlight for the ladies, and we praise the Lord for her ministry to missionaries
