Dear Pastors, Prayer
Partners, Family & Friends,
It’s hard to believe that this is our last letter for 2011!
We’ve been back in Wales for 6 months now from our furlough and
find that the time has flown!! This past weekend our church was
asked by the local police to put on a “Family Fun Night”. We set
up a lot of carnival type games in the Town Hall and gave out
candy as prizes. Kevin then had an opportunity to share the
gospel by telling the “Pumpkin Parable”. This was a big hit with
the children, as well as, adults! We also had our Harvest
Service this past Sunday with one of the missionary couples that
Libanus Baptist Church supports. Bro. Graham Castle and his
wife, Olive, work with New Tribes Missions. Our people were
challenged regarding their faith and service to the Lord, and
then we enjoyed a delicious meal together. We turned our clocks
back this weekend with the days beginning to get shorter. Before
we know it, the girls will be going to school in the dark and
coming home as its getting dark. The short, dreary days of
winter can be quite hard on folks here in Wales, so please pray
for their emotional well-being.
We are gearing up for all the Christmas activities – “Light-Up
Llanfair” Christmas Fair, Adult Christmas Dinner, Ladies’
Christmas Tea, and our biggest outreach of the year, our “Carols
by Candlelight” Christmas Eve Service. Please be in prayer for
these opportunities for outreach. We are not only hoping to
reach some new folks, but are praying that these activities will
also be an encouragement to our regular folks who have been
struggling with many personal issues. As one of the ladies of
our church recently commented to Kevin, “It seems that a lot of
our adults have lost their way.” It is our prayer that God will
help us to help them get their eyes back on the Lord and His
wonderful gift of salvation and the “abundant life” that can be
ours if we’ll just obey!
Our teens are doing GREAT! They are still attending Sunday
morning services, as well as, the Teen Service on Sunday
evenings. Several of them are going through discipleship. They
have been inviting their friends to the Friday night outreach
and church services and our numbers are growing! They are such
an encouragement to us and the people of the church because they
have a heart to serve and have been so faithful. We really could
use Brian and Rebekah Wright here now!!! Please continue to pray
for them as they do their deputation. We are asking God to do a
miracle and get them here ASAP! Our teens miss them and we need
their help!!
As we close, we are happy to report that we should have heat in
our little chapel by the end of November! Praise God and thank
you to those who helped make this possible! Also, could you
please pray with us about God providing the funds for our older
children to be able to come and spend Christmas with us. It
means a lot, especially to our two youngest daughters, to be
able to spend the holidays with their older siblings. May you
have a Christ-centered holiday season that brings you much peace
and joy!!
In His Service,
Kevin & Kim
